A style of painting that developed and evolved in the Rajput courts, miniature paintings were traditionally done on the walls of palaces, and the inner chambers of forts and havelis. They are now available in various forms – as home decor items, framed paintings and home linen.
History Of Miniature Paintings
The art of Miniature paintings was introduced to India by the Mughals, who brought the much-revealed art form from Persia. Most of these paintings were inspired by Mughal themes and rulers, and was later inter-woven with Indian themes, especially those from the lives of Radha and Krishna. The colors used were extracted from plants, oxides, conch shells and gemstones.
